Mourinho in Contact with Erik Ten Hag Over Key Player

CaughtOffside reports that Jose Mourinho is interested in reuniting with Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, aiming to sign the Swedish player for Fenerbahce at the season’s conclusion.

Lindelof, who is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, may be on his way out as Erik ten Hag prefers other options, including newcomers Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro, along with existing players Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire.

With limited minutes on the field, a switch to Turkey could be the career boost the 30-year-old defender needs.

Lindelof’s time at Manchester United has been marked by ups and downs.

Since joining in 2017, he has occasionally demonstrated his defensive capabilities but has struggled to consistently secure a starting role due to the club’s frequent managerial changes and varying defensive tactics.

Injuries have also hampered his development, causing him to fall behind Ten Hag’s preferred defensive choices.

His recent outing against Aston Villa, where he filled in as a right-back for Noussair Mazraoui, underscored his marginal status within the squad.

With only limited appearances, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Swedish international may need to find a new club if he wants to revive his career.
